Linda Robson clashed with her Loose Women co-stars on Thursday’s show as she defended Boris Johnson’s actions in the ‘partygate scandal’.
The ITV talk show had a heated debate over the controversial topic as presenters discussed whether Boris should quit for breaking the law and hosting a lockdown party – for which he has now paid a fine of £50.
Linda left her co-stars and viewers in shock as she shared her opinion and backed Boris Johnson to stay in his position to focus on other issues at hand.
Kaye Adams, Sunetra Sarker and Nadia Sawalha entered the chat with Linda as the daytime show started on Thursday and all started talking to each other in frustration.

Linda pointed out that Boris didn’t throw the party himself, as she said: ‘He didn’t throw the party, did he, he didn’t throw a party, he almost died a few weeks before being hospitalized, he almost died, he made a mistake.”
Her co-presenter, Kay Adams disagreed and quickly replied, “Linda, he’s a man who is a leader. Leaders should lead. They shouldn’t make excuses to make mistakes. Leaders must lead by example, have integrity, do what they say.”
Still, Linda continued to share her support for Boris Johnson and continued: ‘They had a meeting every day to discuss what was happening in the country anyway.’
Kaye asked, “Why do you want to make excuses?”
As Linda replied defensively, “There’s nothing we can compare that to. Nothing like this has ever happened to us in all these years.
Sunetra stepped in to point out that the reason it’s “serious” is because a lockdown had never happened before and the measures and the virus were so extreme.
She said, “That’s why it’s so bad. This has never happened to us before. Containment was brand new. So it was so serious.
Nadia also added: “It hurt a lot of people and for the Conservatives to keep telling us we just have to get over it because it was two years ago, it’s not.”
The two women continued to talk to each other in their frustration and it was hard for viewers to hear either of their arguments.
Boris, his wife Carrie and Rishi Sunak were all fined £50 for attending a birthday party on June 19.
Breaches of Covid restrictions can range from £30 to £10,000.
Boris, who will not have a criminal record because he paid the fine, is the first sitting British Prime Minister to be sanctioned for breaking the law.
He issued a ‘full apology’ for the parties he hosted during the lockdown, but insisted he would not quit.
He said: “I have paid the fine and I again offer a full apology, and in a spirit of openness and humility, I want to be absolutely clear about what happened that day- the.
“It didn’t occur to me that this could have been a breach of the rules, but of course the police concluded otherwise and I fully respect the outcome of their investigation.”
Boris concluded by adding: “I understand the anger many will feel that I myself have failed to abide by the very rules that the government I lead had introduced to protect the public. And I accept in all sincerity that people have the right to expect better…”
